Check availabilityMost hotels with a spa ask the same of their guests: robe on, down the corridor, towel on the bench, and somewhere there is always someone you do not know. Here the sauna is in your room. No opening hours, no booking, no shared relaxation area. You close the door, and that is it.
These rooms came out of the 2025 renovation. When Ute and Markus Leitner took over the house in 2024, the question was never whether to offer wellness, but where. A 500-year-old house in the middle of the village has no room for a spa in the basement. So the sauna moved to where the space was: into the largest rooms, under the roof, looking out over the lake.
Between thirty and forty square metres, depending on the room. There is a sofa bed that sleeps two more, and a balcony with a direct view of the lake and the mountains. Straight from the sauna out onto the balcony: in winter, that is the real reason people book this category.
In practice it means you use the sauna whenever you like. At four after a hike, at six before dinner, or at eleven at night when the restaurant has long closed. Robes and towels are waiting in the room. It takes a good half hour to heat up, so it is best to switch it on before you take a shower.
In the quiet months from October to March, this is the category that makes the stay. When dusk falls at half past four and mist settles on the lake, a sauna of your own with that view beats any list of day trips. For those months we recommend it without reservation.
If you do not need the sauna, have a look at the Deluxe: the same view, the same balcony, and two separate rooms instead.
Six rooms in the house have their own sauna: 101 on the first floor, 201 and 203 on the second, and 301, 302 and 304 under the roof. The top-floor rooms have the steepest sloping ceilings and the widest view.

Questions about the Wellness Room.
Do I need to book the sauna in advance?
No. It is in your room and is yours alone for the whole of your stay. There are no opening hours, no booking and no shared relaxation area. It takes a good half hour to heat up, so it is best to switch it on before you take a shower.
Are bathrobes and towels provided?
Yes, bathrobes and sauna towels are waiting in the room. You do not need to bring anything.
Is there also a spa area in the house?
The saunas are in the Wellness rooms; there is no additional shared spa. The house stands in the village centre and is more than five hundred years old, so there is simply no room for a spa in the basement. That is why the sauna moved to where there was space: into the large rooms with a balcony or loggia. During the day, the newly renovated Kaminstube is also open to you when there is no event on: four comfortable armchairs by the fireplace, games, books, and tea and small snacks in the afternoon, free for hotel guests.
