Check availabilityThe Eco room is for guests who take a room for what it is: a very good place to sleep. Eighteen square metres sounds compact, and it is. But nothing is missing. The box-spring bed is 180 by 200 centimetres, exactly the same as in every other room in the house. We never make the bed the difference between categories.
The window faces the back of the house, up towards the Weinbergkapelle, a small chapel on the hill above the village. No lake view, but plenty of quiet: these rooms face away from the street. If you come up late from the restaurant and want an early start on the mountain, you will notice the difference.
What the Eco room does not have is a balcony or a seating area. What it does have is everything else: shower room, safe, Wi-Fi and the same bed linen as the rooms upstairs. Our categories differ in space and view, not in quality.
For longer stays we would honestly suggest going one category up. If you are staying a week and might spend a rainy afternoon in your room, the Standard or Standard Plus will suit you better. For one or two nights, for walkers, business travellers and anyone who is out all day, the Eco is the most sensible choice in the house.
There are exactly two Eco rooms, numbers 105 and 205, both on the mountain side. Because they are our lowest-priced rooms, they are usually the first to go at weekends and in the school holidays. If your dates are flexible, you will almost always find one free midweek.

Questions about the Economy Room.
Isn’t eighteen square metres rather small?
It is compact, but complete. The bed is 180 by 200 centimetres, the same size as in every other room, and you have a shower room, a safe and Wi-Fi. What you do not get is a balcony or a seating area. For one or two nights, and for guests who are out during the day, it works very well. If you are staying a week, the Standard or Standard Plus is the better choice.
Can I see the lake from the Eco room?
No. The Eco rooms face the mountain side and look up to the Weinberg chapel. In return they face away from the street, which makes them the quietest rooms in the house. Lake views start with the Standard Plus.
Can I upgrade to a larger room when I arrive?
If a room is free, of course. Just ask at reception, which is staffed daily from 7:30 am to 8 pm. We cannot promise it, though: at weekends and in the holidays the house is often fully booked.
