This is where our price list briefly stops making sense, so we would rather explain it ourselves. At 22 square metres the Standard Plus is smaller than the Standard at 25, yet it costs €20 more. In return, these rooms also have a balcony of their own, which the Standard rooms do not. They are on the other side of the house, with a side view of Lake Schliersee.

A side lake view means exactly that: you see the lake, but not its full width in front of you. A stretch of water between the rooftops, the mountains behind. If you want the full, uninterrupted view, the Deluxe or Wellness is for you. If you want to step out with your morning coffee and see what the weather is doing over the lake, this is the room.

You also get a small seating area, which the Standard does not have. Together with the balcony, that changes how you use the room: it becomes somewhere you actually spend time, not just somewhere you sleep.

The twenty-two square metres are cleverly laid out. For two people with normal luggage that is plenty. If you need a lot of space or are staying longer than a week, have a look at the Superior.

In our experience the Standard Plus is the category with the biggest gap between expectation and reality. On paper, a small room for more money. In practice, the point at which your stay starts to feel like a holiday.

There are four of them: 106 and 107 on the first floor, 206 and 207 on the second. All four have a balcony and a side lake view, but each is laid out differently. The floor plans further down show every one, so you know exactly what to expect.

Questions about the Standard Plus Room.

Why does the Standard Plus cost more when it is smaller than the Standard?

Because you are paying for the position, not the floor space. The Standard Plus is on the lake side of the house, with its own balcony and a side view of Lake Schliersee. The Standard has three square metres more, but no balcony and no lake view.

What exactly does “side lake view” mean?

You can see the lake, but not its full width in front of you. A stretch of water between the rooftops, the mountains behind. Only the Deluxe and Wellness categories look straight out over the lake.

What does the Standard Plus have that the Standard doesn’t?

Its own balcony, a small seating area and a side lake view. That changes how you use the room: it becomes somewhere you actually spend time, not just somewhere you sleep.
