A wedding is above all a question of logistics. Ceremony, reception, dinner, party, and at the end the question of how everyone gets home. The more places involved, the more time is lost on the road. At the Terofal everything is on the same square. That holds for weddings just as it does for milestone birthdays, family anniversaries and company celebrations, which we particularly enjoy hosting.
If you would like a celebrant-led ceremony, you can hold it right in the hall of the Bauerntheater, the village peasant theatre. Several ceremonies have already taken place there, and we are happy to recommend a celebrant.
In fine weather the champagne reception takes place on the roof terrace, looking out over the Schliersee and the mountains beyond. It is where most of the photos are taken and where the best man and maid of honour give their speeches before everyone heads downstairs.
The party is in the hall of the Schlierseer Bauerntheater, right next to the hotel. It was built in 1892 to designs by Emanuel von Seidl, and it is not a room you hire because it happens to be free, but a theatre hall with a stage and a gallery. With dinner it holds up to 250 guests, at radial tables for 100 or 150 or at one long banquet table. There is no other room of this size on the Schliersee. Lighting and sound are in place, and we provide a large screen on request.
The food comes from our kitchen, which holds the sole catering right in the Bauerntheater. Finger food and canapés for the reception, then one of eleven menus from hearty Alpine to refined, vegetarian or seasonal, agreed with you individually. Alongside: sparkling wines, cocktails and wines. The service is our own staff, not an agency team seeing the hall for the first time. That is why outside catering is not possible, but you are welcome to bring in decoration from outside by arrangement.
When the hall grows quieter, the party moves to the Xaver Bar. Out of consideration for our hotel guests it aims to close at midnight. And anyone who wants to stay the night sleeps in the hotel or in one of the four holiday apartments right on the lake. Let us know early and we will hold the rooms for your guests.
For the hall there is a €500 hire fee and €150 for cleaning, both paid to the municipality of Schliersee. For music, photographers, flowers, wedding planning and the journey home we put you in touch with people we know. Your contacts are Ute Leitner and Lisa Werner, and they are there in person on the day itself.

Wedding questions.
How many wedding guests fit in the hall?
Up to 250 guests for a seated dinner. That makes large weddings possible too, which otherwise have little choice on the Schliersee. Smaller celebrations we host in the Stuben.
Is a celebrant-led ceremony possible?
Yes, several celebrant-led ceremonies have already taken place in the Bauerntheater. We are happy to recommend a celebrant.
Where is the champagne reception?
In fine weather on the roof terrace, with views of the lake and the mountains. It is also where most of the photos are taken. If it rains we move to the Stuben or the Xaver Bar.
Who takes care of the food?
Our own kitchen. Eleven suggested menus from hearty Alpine to refined, vegetarian and seasonal, with finger food and canapés at the reception and sparkling wines, cocktails and wines. We agree the menu with you individually. Outside catering is not possible; decoration from outside suppliers is welcome by arrangement.
Can you recommend musicians, photographers or florists?
Yes. We work with bands, musicians, DJs, photographers, florists and wedding planners and are happy to put you in touch. We also arrange taxis or a coach for the journey home.
Can guests stay on site?
Yes, in the hotel and in the four Seeheimat holiday apartments right on the lake. Let us know when you book and we will hold the rooms for your guests.
What does a wedding with you cost?
For the hall there is a €500 hire fee and €150 for cleaning, both paid to the municipality of Schliersee. Menu, drinks and service depend on how you want to celebrate. Write to us with your date and a rough number of guests and you will receive a quote.
